THE ASK
Demonstrate a new TV and tablet system for Samsung USA Development where users can choose media to watch, from movies to photos to internet videos purely based on their mood. Users can choose a preset mood matrix or create their own and fine tune it with moveable rings. The actors would utilize a series of features to show a real-life scenario demonstrating a particular scope of the product. Part life-style, part tech demonstration.

THE PRODUCTION CHALLENGES
The UI interface for the TV and more importantly, the tablet, had already been designed and animated to create a specific scenario / story to tell. Therefore, the team had to shoot each shot to match movements of the screen animations over green screen. The actors additionally had to match the movements of the animations using an offscreen monitor for reference. The tablet green screen prop had to be fabricated to exact specifications including the TV, both to match the animation's ratios and sizings.

THE SOLUTION
The team had the green screen TV and tablet props fabricated out of acrylic to exact specifications. The visual effects supervisor adjusted the green screen markers depending on the actor blocking and lighting. The location was chosen with abundant natural light and a living room that showcased the TV. The animation beats were printed out and shot beat by beat and covered from multiple directions for editorial options and preference. Green screen markers were created for actors to touch.

The Results
The effective use of the tablet and TV system and multiple user interaction created a seamless and realistic demonstration. The addition of gesture controls and voice activation also added to the depth and scope of what the technology could do. The end result was a vague or spur of the moment mood choice by the actor, and ultimately funneled down and fine tuned to an exact movie choice.
